Sirba, Western Darfur (11 Apr.)

An armed group loyal to the government raped two displaced women from camp Bear Dagig of Sirba locality in West Darfur on Monday.

A relative of the victims told Radio Dabanga the women were on their way back from work at a farm close to the camp. He explained that the gunmen raised weapons and attacked the women before they were raped repeatedly.

The victims were held hostage for two days before being released on Tuesday morning.

The family members of the victims reported the incident to the police, but the police did not respond yet. The relatives call on the local and central authorities to protect them from militias and bring the perpetrators to justice.
